The Winter Wedding

The Winter Wedding can bring intimacy, style and that sense of movie magic to your day, making this season a wonderful time to tie the knot. With correct planning and a little creativity you can transform your wedding venue into a winter wonderland. In fact you may already have some ideas yourself on how to pull this off, but just in case you're a little short on inspiration I have taken the time to outline a few for you.

Wedding Entertainment

Your Winter Wedding just wouldn't be complete without the perfect Wedding Entertainment. This can only be achieved with cooperation from your wedding entertainment providers. As a Wedding Singer I personally beleive that it's important to have a variety of Christmas songs in my repertoire. A few years ago I chose to make a 'Christmas Show' specifically for this purpose, though I now mostly I find myself tailoring various different shows for clients in the winter, comprising of a few Chrismas favourites, mixed with music of other genres.

Similarily your Wedding DJ should provide you with some of these seasonal favourites, or at least give you the choice to choose some for yourself.

Wedding Invitations

The most obvious way to go here would be Winter Themed invitations, using plenty of snow and glitter. If you'd like full creative control you could make these yourself. Just take a trip to stores such as Hobby Craft and have a look around. You certainly won't be left short of ideas although you may find yourself having to narrow down your choices a little, as these places are huge! Once you start you'll undoubtedly come up with your own creative invitation ideas, but here's one for you anyway - Try putting some snowflake sequin confetti inside with the wedding invitations to make them that little bit more festive.

If DIY isn't your thing or you're just too busy, then call the professionals and have your wedding invitations hand made. Imagine is just one of the many companies I found when I searched for 'Winter Wedding Invitations'.

Wedding Favours

This is the quick, easy and one of the most fun parts of planning your Winter Wedding. Confetti is a popular place for buying wedding favours and accessories. Here are a few ideas:
  • Bride and groom snowpeople for centrepieces
  • Ice Cube Style place card holders
  • Miniature wedding snow globes
  • Personalised wedding guest place name Christmas balls
  • Personalised wedding guest place names Christmas Crackers

And the rest?

In order to theme the whole day there are a few other things to consider, such as the Cake, the flowers, your arrival and dressing the venue. The important thing is that you do it YOUR way and that you have a great time in the process. Once you start exploring you will discover new ways in which you can add your own personal touches ensure the perfect winter wedding.
