MEETING CHRIS HORWOOD

We met Chris Horwood whilst providing a Wedding Singer and DJ (Gold Plus) package at Tewin Bury Farm Hotel in Hertfordshire, for Lisa and Glen Baynes' wedding reception. Chris approached us at the start of the evening before guest arrival, whilst we were setting up our equipment in preparation for the evening's music. We found him to be very friendly, personable and professional. He introduced himself and we had a quick chat about what each of us were to provide and when, confirming our timings for the first dance etc. Chris was very laid back and happy to go along with what we felt would be best for the night. I have to say that it was nice to work with a photographer who was so relaxed about their work and not in so much of a rush to disappear after the first dance!

From speaking with Chris and browsing his website I understand that he primarily works as a London Wedding Photographer. However, it does state on his website (and also the fact that our recent gig was outside of London) that he will travel to areas other than London for an additional travel and accommodation charge. PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE

From his website Chris explains his approach: "Relaxed and informal wedding reportage photography, unobtrusively capturing the atmosphere of the day...Creating beautiful images that embody the energy and character of the wedding. I take candid portraits of the wedding party and still-life details that contribute to a large part of the overall collection of images. I always work with natural light where possible and tend not to intervene at all during the day except, when necessary, during the group photography. People are often unaware that I am even there."

From our own experience of working with Chris this seemed very true. He was discrete and when looking back at my own performance images (that he kindly agreed to provide), I can't remember anyone being close by or in the way, which can be quite important when connecting with an audience during my performance.
